The Salazar Story

I've been around the shellfish industry since I was about 5 years old. For as long as I can remember my dad has always worked for an oyster company. I started working in the shellfish farms in my mid-teens and found my career that I loved. It's not called work if it's what you love doing. In order to give my boys a better future I decided to branch out and start my own farm. I stand behind my product and am proud to give my boys something they can be proud of. Community is very important to me. Whenever I can lend a hand to a small farm, like myself, I'm more than willing to do so. I want everyone's dreams to succeed like mine.

Alonso Salazar Talks Oysters

Alonso and sons talk about farming oysters around the puget sound

What is the Cylinder & Tumble growing method?

The oysters are first put into cylinders that were modified by Alonso. Inside these cylinders the oysters grow to a certain size, develop a cup, and length. When the time is right he moves them into tumble bags where the Puget Sound nutures them to the right size.
